Dual Fuel Conversion Kits
The Dual Fuel Conversion Kit uses an adapter that makes it possible to operate low pressure propane, natural gas and gasoline. Most homes provide low pressure natural gas or low pressure propane. This kit does not support high pressure propane that comes from a tank(barbecue tank).

This kit can also run on low pressure propane that comes from a pressure reducing regulator that comes from the home or a large tank. The fuel adapter will mix the Propane or Natural Gas into the air stream above the gasoline carburetor. The gasoline carburetor remains basically untouched. So basically, fuel adapter kits are not a permanent conversion, but is an adaptation. This is the most common method of conversion and it is the least expensive and least labor intensive.
For the Dual Fuel Conversion we use our own generic version of the Impco Garretson KN Regulator, the C-039-122 fuel regulator with manual primer for ease of starting. The KN fuel controller works great with 11 inches of water column or 6 to 8 ounces per square inches of pressure. A typical natural gas line pressure is in the range of 10 to 12 inches of water column. The manual primer located on the back cover of the C-039-122 makes it much easier to start the engine as it primes the carburetor with gaseous fuel.
Basic Installation
NOTE:There are more steps to the conversion process but the following steps describe the basic process.
Step 1 - Remove the air cleaner assembly
Step 2 - Install the fuel adapter
Step 3 - Assemble fuel regulator and mount on the frame
Our Dual-fuel kit allows you to run on Natural Gas or Low Pressure Propane. Our Tri-fuel kit allows you to run on natural gas or propane from a portable propane tank. | ||
